INT. BUILDINGS AND GROUNDS OFFICE

 

Professor Lambeau

Come. 

They walk a bit inside the shop, stop near the big boiler and the professor knocks on it sharply to get the attention of the two men sitting across them in front of a table which is pressed against a wall filled with papers and whatnot. The desk is not littered though. One of those men is balding, middle aged and he has on a light colored vest with a white t-shirt and dark pants. He also has a mustache. He keeps a pencil behind his ear. The other man is dressed in grayish-green.

Professor Lambeau (sharply)

Excuse me? Is this the Buildings and Grounds office?

Man 1

Yeah. What can I do for you?

Professor Lambeau

I just need the name of a student who works here.

Man 1 

No students work for me

Professor Lambeau (tries to reason)

Could you please check?

I have this guy who works in my building. He's about this high-

Man 1 (cuts the professor off mid sentence)

Which one is your building?

Lambeau looks back at Tom for assistance

Tom (hurriedly)

Professor Lambeau

Two. Building two.

Man 1 turns around on his chair, looks around the desk. Turns back.

Man 1

Look if anything was stolen, I should know about that.

Professor Lambeau

No, it's nothing like that

I just need his name.

Man 1 (annoyed)

 I cant give you his name unless you have a complaint

Tom (speaks up, is peeved)

This is professor Lambeau

Man 1 (amused, mockingly)

And this is professor Hayes.

Waves his hand towards Man 2, who smiles tauntingly and nods at Man 1.

Tom looks like he wants to say something biting to Man 2, gets ready to step forward. Professor Lambeau extends his hand to calm Tom down.

Professor Lambeau

(to Tom)

Tom, please. 

(turns back at Man 1, pleadingly)

This is important. Please

Professor Lambeau and Tom step closer to Mens 1 and 2 as Lambeau speaks. Man 1 turns back to his desk, searches for something, finds it and turns back at Lambeau and Tom.

Man 1

Will didn't show for work today.

(sighs)

Got this trough his P.O. You can call him.

Hands Lambeau a yellow card, which contains Wills name, address, phone number and his parole officers name. Close up of the card as the professor speaks. 

Professor Lambeau

P.O?

Lambeau weighs the card in his hands, looks at Man 1.

Man 1

Yeah. Parole officer

Gives the card to Tom, who pockets it.

Professor Lambeau

Thank you

Professor Lambeau and Tom turn and leave the shop.

Man 1 

(as they're leaving, to their backs)

(laughing with Man 2)
